Last night Sunday-Rose and I could hear a storm rolling in, so we went out to check the goats. They looked so confused and nervous with all the thunder. We got them to follow us into the goat house and it began to just pour! Every time the thunder clapped, poor Sunday-Rose would get tears in her eyes and cover her ears. My heart broke for her, I wished she could see the storm the way I saw it. This incredible Earth of ours is able to put on these elaborate shows of power! Loud crashing, booming sounds, bright electric lights in the sky, tiny rivers forming in the once dry ground. Sunday-Rose was not able to see those things because of fear. I wasn't sure how to help her, so instead, I asked her to support her goat, Penny. I explained that Penny was probably just as scared as she was, if not more. She really seemed to like the idea that she was the one giving support instead of needing it. I also may have mentioned that she is more likely to win the lottery than get struck by lightening. Then I explained what the lottery was. Hahaha. She felt better and when the storm let up, we came inside.
I wonder how much beauty we miss in the world because of fear. I bet it's a lot. I am going to work on letting go of fear, so I too can see the beauty in everything.
