Adventures in milking Ms Zoey

Zoey really loves to test me. It's like she knows I'm new to this and wants to make it hard. That's fine, cause if I can milk her, I can milk ANYTHING! I separated Oakley from Zoey for part of the day so we can get some of that milk for ourselves. Zoey seems to really enjoy the time off. Girl, I know them feels! Oakley on the other hand cries and cries. She cried so much the first day, she lost her voice! I know she's not hungry because she eats plenty and still nurses a ton! The guilt overcomes me, so I've been milking Zoey early so she can go be with Oakley, which means milking before Ange gets home.  I've milked alone 4 times now and I'm so proud of myself! Sunday-Rose was actually able to milk a little too! Okay, yeah, I bought the goat hobble, so it helps a ton. Whatever works, right?! Finally we are getting a better supply now and have switched the family over to goat milk instead of cows milk for almost everything!

There's such a sense of pride watching the kids enjoy things we could never afford before. Goat cheese by the Tupperware full, goat milk and raw yogurt. Yum yum.
